Please read the following guidance on test completion before you begin.
You will be asked to appraise several aspects of yourself and people or types of people you know using values and attitudes that are relevant in the theory and practice of social work, as well as in your private life.
These are presented as contrasting values (see the illustration below). You indicate the extent to which you feel the chosen value applies to the person on a scale. The pale centre of the scale indicates that you cannot make your mind up or you simply don’t know. The ends of the scale indicate a strong feeling that the indicated value fits that person. The remainder of the scale allows you to indicate an appropriate level of feeling.

The recommended approach is to avoid entering a debate with yourself about the choice of response and to read the text options carefully, focus on who it is you are describing and respond quickly and intuitively with that person in mind. At various points you will be asked to name the person you are appraising – this is to help you think about a real person who fits the description. You do not need to make a note of the name or type it into the screen, simply keep that specific person in your head when responding.
You should not seek assistance with your responses which should reflect your genuine attitudes and values. Quality control checks will be applied to the results.
When you are ready to start, please click on the ‘Proceed’ button below. This will take you to the entry point for the psychometric where you will be asked for a username and password. Both your username and your password will be your Queen’s student number.
The test should take you between 30 and 45 minutes. We recommend completing it in one sitting so please find some time to do this if you can. If you do need to leave the process, just close down the tab you are working in and then you can re-join the process from the link below. When you log in again you will be taken to the first uncompleted page following your last completed page.
